Course Aims And Objectives
The need for developing special skills in carrying out objective and systematic Health & Safety Management System Audits is growing rapidly as companies prepare to develop management systems in line with national standards such as HSG65(UK) or international standards such as OHSAS 18001. This 2-day Auditors Training Course has been designed specifically for members of audit and company safety teams, who wish to develop their skills and knowledge of the OHSAS Management System Audit process.
The process requires that an internal audit should be conducted at regular and defined intervals by an appropriate auditor. This person or audit team member should be sufficiently trained and proficient in the specific skills of health and safety management system auditing.
The applicable standard requires that audit protocols and procedures are followed so that the performance of the OHSMS can be assessed. Training-needs of audit teams are obviously of prime importance. This course provides delegates with the ability and confidence to ask the right questions, to evaluate safety-related information and to undertake effective audits which meet the requirements of the international management system auditing standard (ISO 19011).
This course provides delegates with a unique learning experience which is far removed from the usual classroom scenario. There are no boring lectures, powerpoint presentations and clock-watching scenarios. Instead, the course is presented informally but with highly participative and inclusive programmes of accelerated learning. The course is made up of a series of carefully designed interactive exercises that enable the learner to participate, reflect, debate and embrace the best-practice of the group in developing as an OHSMS auditor.
Accelerated learning at it’s best!
Who Should Attend?
Persons who may wish to attend the course are likely to be 1st or 2nd party auditors, safety professionals wishing to audit OH&S, quality systems auditors wishing to develop their skills into OH&S auditing, Health & Safety trained personnel and others who wish to understand management system auditing and who are aware of management systems and auditing principles.
